A passion for art.
József Perlaki crafted his first stained glass window before he was 20.
Aged 21, he graduated as a glass painter at the National Professional Institute, and immediately set off on restoring Hungary’s art heritage. Among many projects, he worked on the repair and restoration of stained glass windows in Budapest’s Parliament, State Ballet and the Storno House palace in Sopron, in the west of the country.
In 1985 he opened his independent atelier, initially based in Bakonyszentkirály, a picturesque village in the Bakony Hills in western Hungary. The atelier has since moved to Veszprém, near lake Balaton.
